General Strike on January 24, 2025

In recent months, Serbia has been the stage for a series of protests and institutional blockades, as hundreds of thousands of citizens courageously stand up to express their dissatisfaction with the current system. 

The catalyst for this resistance was a tragic incident in Novi Sad on November 1st 2024, where the collapse of a railway station canopy claimed the lives of 15 people. This sparked outrage and calls for accountability, as many attribute this tragedy to corruption and substandard reconstruction of said railway station. (source)
